Although the tracks on this initial release by Janes scenic drive can be broadly categorized as ambient, they are on the farther reaches of that general genre. They reflect many of the traits commonly found in abstract ambient, industrial ambient, dark ambient, isolationist ambient, and experimental ambient. I suspect this will be the nature of most of the music published as Janes scenic drive. The emphasis here is atmosphere, texture, abstraction, a present state of mind, and the capture of feelings that are better communicated through music than words.
